Most of the route is around around Stromness town centre with a mix of pavements, cobbles and lanes. One of the sites is up Brinkie Brae hill which is more mixed terrain.

The trail starts at Stromness Library. And the next stop in the trail is unlocked when you complete your current step. But you can feel free to lunch, brunch, shop & stop to your heart's delight as you complete the trail!
